success story:
A story from the field
There are those who think that Social
Work is a way to make money and profits. Although, the truth is entirely
different. Social Work aims to relief humans especially during the periods of
wars and clashes. Also, there are those who think that Humanitarian &
Relief Activities are only a form the of giving up and surrounding,…done. In
reality and during the execution of those activities, numerous risks and
strains may occur but they make the field working team live memorial experiences
which provide them with knowledge, experience and capabilities. Also, make them
glorify the humanitarian work field which brings back the smile to the locals'
& children's faces whatever the strains that threaten their lives.
In spite of the exhaustion and tiredness due to long travelling, it all
gone forgetting when there is a strong will and faith in that, life will only
continue by humans whatever the destiny of the future is unpredictable or not. Whatever
human's services you provide to relief what was destroyed by wars, makes you
feel comfortable and bringing back the smile to the community which became lifeless,
hopeless.. It's really worthy to work to bring back that life again and to
bring the future with hope which became unknown to many.
Our story narrates an episode of the field team work who works in
insulating Solar Power Utilities in
some schools and medical centers within the Capabilities Reinforcement Program by
UNDP associated with Youth Roles Development Organization in Lahj and Abyan and
funded by European Union.
Among such targeted schools
and medical centers, ones in Lodar district in Abyan. The team work left for Lodar
to evaluate the processes of installing Solar Power Utilities and deliver them to the aimed beneficiaries.
In fact, the team work travelled for four hours enjoying the ever green
sceneries and rain falling on their bodies. In spite of the long trip to Lodar Abyan,
we have lived memorial unforgotten hours which we will keep remembering
forever.
At the arrival time at Lodar,
Abyan. We delivered the Solar Systems to those who are in charge of the aimed
utilities. Then on the way back, some of the team work insisted to pull over to
enjoy the breath taking and magnificent green sceneries and to take memorial
pictures accompanied by the mountain behind us and the sea. We didn't notice
that the driver was driving too fast and started to lose control of the
vehicle. At that time we approached a slob. We didn't know the reason behind
that and when we stopped to take some pictures in response to one member of the
team, we didn't that the wheel started
to touch the ground. It started to have cracks. we thanked God who saved us
from a definite accident.
